  Play Area

I have a question for people who have built (or are building) robots for Deep Yellow. Has anyone else noticed the common area restrictions to be a problem? What I mean is the fact that a robot is not allowed to enter the area past the left edge of (...) (21 years ago, 24-Dec-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Play Area

(...) It's not you, Chris mentioned it too. I'm not eager to change it at this point, as others have already started. So unless it's impossible, let's just make sure everyone's aware of this restriction and work around it. (...) I don't really love (...) (21 years ago, 24-Dec-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Play Area

(...) ok, so we are agreed than.... the spirit of the rule was meant mainly as a way to say that you cant have your robot LIVE on your opponents side. but if you venture into an opponent air space, people will not get upset. and that 2. don't be a (...)   Re: Play Area

(...) Bah. And here I was thinking of doing exactly that. Why bother with a moving robot if I can have a stationary one? :) Oh well. Jenn's building it anyway :) (21 years ago, 24-Dec-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Play Area

(...) Well more like this: a) if you're going to be a dink and build a wall there and complain, you can go back to Indiana. (Random state, honest!) b) if someone honestly built right to the edge and another robot interferes with it, I'm siding with (...) (21 years ago, 24-Dec-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Play Area

(...) So, I have a robot (my second design) that sits pretty close to the side of the board. I'm pretty sure you'll call me a dink for building it because it sits close to the edge, but that's how it's designed. A robot like this would be much (...)   Re: Play Area

(...) You're only a dink if you deliberately put something there for the purpose of interfering. If that was the way it came out, fine. All I'm saying is if someone's going to be a prick and do that, then that's just being stupid. Calum (21 years ago, 24-Dec-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Play Area

(...) seeing as you are entering more than ONE robot, and the second one "needs" to be a "Wall" up the side of game board, and you, yourself just said that "...A robot like this would be much easier to change..." then why do it? be nice and back (...)   Re: Play Area

(...) So, I have a working robot (which is not a wall) that follows all the rules, and you're suggesting I change it to be nicer to people who don't follow the rules? :) Really? As it turns out, I've managed to make my first robot work with the (...) (21 years ago, 26-Dec-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Play Area

(...) I can only lay this personality trait on your nationality....... :) so, if you have a robot that is NOT wall like, and is within the rules, then whats the problem? Chris (21 years ago, 26-Dec-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Play Area

(...) Isn't that like saying ALL Canadians hate BNL? :) I hardly speak for my nation. Sometimes, I don't even speak for myself. (21 years ago, 26-Dec-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
