  Re: 486-33 8Mb

(...) Stranegly enough, no. It was fully working. Like, even the CDRom drive was working. Calum (21 years ago, 3-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) I *love* concrete. I love the smell of it when it gets wet. Iain (21 years ago, 3-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: new favorite sound....

(...) I think using our fingers to randomly distribute the bricks throughout the rice is fair. Just placing the bricks on top is not much of a challenge. Placing bricks on the bottom and then pouring rice on top is going to make match setup a pain. (...) (21 years ago, 3-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: 486-33 8Mb

(...) Faster than you can say "Dumpster", I found a HP Pavilion Celeron 400 with 192MB and 5+8 GByte of hard disks. I'm running memtest86 and everything's kosher. The machine was sitting next to a dumpster near our building at the University. Is it (...) (21 years ago, 3-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: new favorite sound....

(...) You're just strengthening my resolve to kick your butt! (...) Knowing what I do about your bot, I say we plant every brick deep in the rice! Actually, I just assumed we’d randomize their placement using our fingers. (...) Cocky son-of-a-gun (...) (21 years ago, 3-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: question

(...) VINEET! Ok, let me explain something. There are a TON of people here, and several are actually willing to help solve problems. But you need to give them enough information to help you. First, we all ass-u-me you've tried to solve the problem (...) (21 years ago, 3-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  new favorite sound....

"I love the sound of Rice in the evening." I've got 2 parts. the sorter.... and the picker. the picker needs to be motorized to drive it to the pit, but.... once in position, it will grab a brick on the surface, or slightly into the surface. and (...)   Re: question

(...) I don't know why they all mock you... anyway what exactly "isn't working"? Do you mean that after installing all 6 batteries correctly and pushed the red button, it didn't beep? (21 years ago, 3-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  RE: question

(...) Jeremy, I think he said he left the box unopened until recently. This means that the air did not get into the box until recently. Clearly, a different failure mechanism is at work here. It's more likely that the electrons in the firmware (...) (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: question

Don’t know about you guys, but, I keep my RCX’s in a modified Tupperware container that I’ve attached to an air pump. This lets me drop the air pressure to 0.05 atmospheres. The end effect is that my RCX’s are always in good shape and I think the (...) (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: question

(...) I doubt air would cause this type of problem. More likely, something toxic in the air. Chris was telling me about someone who had a problem like this. His home AC was leaking some kind of freeon or something, which contaminated some kinds of (...) (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: question

(...) More than likely it broke as you were taking it out of the box. They seal the Mindstorms box so that the air doesn't affect the RCX. When you broke that seal and the air got to the brick, it might have ruined the chip. Jeremy. (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: question

Does this mean that the brick was broken before I openned the box? (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
