  Re: Day ONE. Wasted.

(...) I found that my chips were crunchy and warm--just right! I think it helped that I put the salsa in with the cheese over the chips before I put the whole thing into the microwave--the salsa distributes the heat to the chips better...   Re: Remote Switch plan

(...) Yes, this is Jeff Elliott's design. We used them very successfully at the NMRA show this summer. Unfortunately he's very busy preparing to move, so probably won't be able to post details anytime soon. I've got copies of the easy throw model at (...)   Re: Day ONE. Wasted.

(...) you cant nail that on me. What kate and i do is toast the nachos in the oven, then finish them off on broil. you came up with the microwave idea. Sure it melts the cheese, but the Chips. good god man.... think of the chips!!! Chris (21 years ago, 19-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Day ONE. Wasted.

(...) I can't take credit for this one-Chris and Kate do this often. I figured it out from him. Calum (21 years ago, 19-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Remote Switch plan

(...) Was it the one in the trains 2 room? I did snap some pics of that, because I'd love to have automated switches :) (4 URLs) that helps! (21 years ago, 19-Aug-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Day ONE. Wasted.

(...) Still wrestling with Blaster, was here until 6 or 7 (lost track but eh, I get salary... oh wait, that should be a 'Grr!!!') Then I went home, watched the Santa Fe go around the layout a few times, picked up the 'mixed stuff for the kids', then (...) (21 years ago, 19-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Coming to Waterloo!

(...) Hey Larry, I think it would be a Good Thing(tm) to come out and see you. Work's becoming a little less busy--most systems are patched and I'm not putting in extremely long days, so there's tonight, and tomorrow night when I'm free. Maybe Allan (...)   Re: test

(...) See, now I don't even have to go to off-topic.test to read test messages... They're coming to me now! Hi Vineet! Dave K (21 years ago, 19-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Remote Switch plan

(...) The problem is, I saw it, held it in my hand, but was far too distracted to remember all the 'intricate' gearing and connections... Was tres sweet, though! I believe it was a JeffE design(tm). Dave K (21 years ago, 19-Aug-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Don't burn the day...

(...) As someone who finds it hard to be motivated and build something, I'd be interested in trying out an easier competition! Iain (21 years ago, 19-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Coming to Waterloo!

(...) I'm likely available any evening, but as mentioned probably wouldn't be able to arrive in Waterloo until after supper. Anyone else want to jump in with an idea for where and when to meet? (...) Yes and it has built in redundancy. When the (...) (21 years ago, 19-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  lugnet help

Calum- I made a goof up when signing on to post. Is there a way for me to go back to my registration and correct it? (21 years ago, 19-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: ldr. to jpg.

(...) Hi Vineet, You have to install LPub, L3P and POV-Ray 3.1. When you download LPub it gives you directions on what all to install and where to get it. Once you have these things installed, Generate->Single Image will do the trick. Kevin (an RTL (...) (21 years ago, 19-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Remote Switch plan

(...) Does that require switch modification? The rtlToronto gang(1) had not one but TWO boffo powered points designs (using clutch gears) that did not require internal switch modification, they had torque to burn and easily threw unmodified switches (...)   Re: Coming to Waterloo!

(...) I'll be here all week if all goes according to plan. I'm driving home Friday nite. So ya! I hope we can muster a few other folks too... (...)   Don't burn the day...

Hi folks, One of the ideas being bounced around while in DC was the idea of having a variant of each rtlToronto competition for people just beginning in the Lego robotics arena. Instead of offering simple games which require effort to (...) (21 years ago, 19-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
