  Technic Challenge

Okay folks, Here's a Technic challenge to get all y'all hyped for train1: Build a mechanism that mounts on a locomotive, that can disconnect the car behind it. What I would like is an RCX based switcher engine that pushes away the car coupled behind (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

I'm thinking eyelets here, and if that's the case, (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Standardized Containers for Train1

(...) I would think that 4 x 8 and 4 x 16 would be considered as "Standard" sizes. Both will fit on a 6 x 34 Split-Level Train base. a standard height would be 3 bricks high plus one plate for a roof and 2 plates for the floor and raised base.   Standardized Containers for Train1

Hi guys and gals! I'm trying to come up with some concepts for a cartesian gantry crane (automated, of course!) for train1 for loading/unloading containers onto flatbed cars. Now, since the only stuff I've built is passenger, I've no idea what a (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Possibly free venue??

(...) It's a good thought, and for a good cause too. The issue then comes, the minute people pay for it, is, we are selling a product, namely, a show. People expect then, a well organized, run, produced "event". What if only four people show up with (...) (23 years ago, 29-Apr-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Train1 Reversing loop

If you weren't already aware, your reversing loop needs to be electrically isolated from the main line. The idea is that before the train enters the loop, the reversing line is given the same polarity (at it's start) as the main line so the train (...)   Possibly free venue??

I've just had a thought... And since it doesn't happen all that often, I thought I'd share it with everyone. It turns out that my old public school is having a fundraising campaign - craft sale, bake sale, garage sale, games etc. So it occured to me (...)   Re: again...

(...) I just checked the catalog I received last week from Lego and the pneumatic set doesn't have an electric pump. Are you suggesting there is such a beast? Also, how does the "mini pump" differ from the usual manual pump (if it is a manual pump - (...) (23 years ago, 28-Apr-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
