  Lego Bowl

During rtlToronto/train4.5, we all bought candy at Zellers. Here's how I ended up giving away mine: (URL) (21 years ago, 30-Apr-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.announce.moc)

(...) What??? I just order 3 of these for us!!! One for each loop of the layout. I've even started licensing discussions with Centerline so we can produce rtl branded versions of them. Just wondering if the task for rtlToronto14 was set (officially) yet? Innocent bystanders with inquiring minds want to know... -Rob A> (21 years ago, 29-Apr-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: New ViperSE begins testing at Ventax (Video link)

(...) Is it ever any different? :) I'm just surprised how many people can rationalize a $150 product that is nothing more than a metal bracket and a felt roller and is of questionable effectiveness. Are people that lazy, or are there that many (...) (21 years ago, 29-Apr-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) let me get this straight.... $104 USD for a bit of steel, and some round felt. for $104 (or less) someone could rig up a new mindstorms sensor that measures the resistance of the track and trigger a motor to clean the required section.   Re: New ViperSE begins testing at Ventax (Video link)

(...) What's amazing IIRC about the Viper and ViperSE is that the idea was originally pitched by Iain to his boss with a Lego model. Isn't that cool? Calum PS-cooler than a $104 track cleaner. (21 years ago, 29-Apr-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Iain... I down loaded the "raw" footage, and... and... holy ca ca! Its cool to see what you do with Lego, but to see this and know you were a MAJOR influence in its design and fruition....   New ViperSE begins testing at Ventax (Video link)

Friday, we fired up the newest Viper to be built at Ventax. This will be the fastest one yet. The tipspeed as it passes through its centrepoint, once we get it up to 100%, will be appr. 117 km/h.   Re: Bricks in Rice

I am fine with the bare 2x4 bricks. I've put some in a tub of rice, and my preliminary "devices" (the right word escapes me just now -- laughable attempts, perhaps?) have not seen any unwanted interlocking. I am against using marbles too, at least (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Bricks in Rice

Hey everyone, Not that I have been building anything, but I have been thinking a bit about the next game. I thought it would be nice to switch the bricks to 2x2's with a tile on top. I can't e-mail when I'm not at work or at home--spending the weekend in Toronto, away from either of those two places :) I'll bring the 4 pumps to dinner in May, and we'll go from there.
