last night, instead of a normal dinner get-together, we met at the MIE lab at University of Toronto, and tested out the playability of a "live" robo-sports game. Of course, we'll sort this out tonight, but I don't see why we should bar anti-robot strategies unless they violate our usual standards. That is, no using string or wires as weapons (too easy) no dumping of substantial numbers of parts on the play (...) (23 years ago, 8-Mar-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

I'll definitely try to make it by 6. I'll bring one very evil 'tank' steer player that is inspired by 3 back-to-back BattleBots episodes. I'm bringing three: a rack & pinion trike, a fragile tank/skid steerer with a kicker, and an upgraded tank identical in design but less prone to self-destruct. (...) what about a kicking device??? Each of mine has 4 motors (1 for each rear wheel to allow steering / and to give it some horse power, and 2 motors for the kicking device).
