  Re: K, that's it! We're doing it!!

(...) K, I like Steve's idea--I was going for the 24 by 24 with the 18+ battery boxes, but to keep things reasonable, the 12 x 12 is a perfectly good restriction 3-5 pounds? that's tough 'cause I remember building my tug o' war 'bot and trying to (...)   Re: K, that's it! We're doing it!!

(...) hmm. Maybe worth a trip to Canada. (...) I'd think there should be at least a couple rules, to keep people (like me) from building robot that are just stupid-big. Something like 12x12 inches and 3 to 5 lbs should be plenty for most. Also, if I (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  K, that's it! We're doing it!!

Pulling a preemptive takeover, I'm running a 'bot competition!! After watching YouTube for a bit-- (URL) seeing what others are passing off as LEGO 'battlebot' things, and since Chris and I have been talking about it for YEARS!!!, I'm running a LEGO (...)   Re: i know we're all broke

(...) I've seen RIS sets going for a little under retail until relatively lately--now they've seemed to dropped alot. But I've not kept close watch, so there were probably deals to be made even before the NXT Thanks for the info, Brian! Dave K (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

[rtlToronto] Dinner cancelled was, Re: Where to have dinner this week?

(...) Well, Chris can't make it, I'm dead tired and I got no responses, so... ...I've decided to postpone dinner a week to next Friday. In the meantime, your suggestions are encouraged. Calum (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Where to have dinner this week?

So...I've been pretty sick over the weekend. But one of the suggestions we had last month was to change around the rtlToronto dinner to somewhere other than the Swiss Chalet as usual. Any suggestions, probably best around west end as many of us work (...) (18 years ago, 11-Oct-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: i know we're all broke

(...) Really? I've been watching for a while, and haven't noticed any great drop in prices. I've bought a lot of Mindstorms off eBay (well, OK, not a lot, but at least some). I've never payed over $53 for a 1.0 RCX, and never more than $120 for a (...) (18 years ago, 10-Oct-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  i know we're all broke

but i'm noting that the RCX, or RCX related sets are plummeting in pricing on eBay Just last week I got 2 1.0 RCX's with AC jack for 100 bones. Just an FYI if you're so inclined to get another RCX before they're a 'collecters item' Dave K (18 years ago, 10-Oct-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  I have a job!!

No, I didn't lose my 'Tech Support Analyst' position... But most Saturdays between now and February, I'll be working. What'll I be doing?? Remember the posting from Mike a few weeks back? He was looking for someone to help with his LEGO store. Well, (...) (18 years ago, 5-Oct-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Please join me in congratulating...

(...) Thanks Larry! Always good hearing from you. We should have no issues with cooties in the house :) Dave K (18 years ago, 4-Oct-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
