K, I like Steve's idea--I was going for the 24 by 24 with the 18+ battery boxes,
but to keep things reasonable, the 12 x 12 is a perfectly good restriction
3-5 pounds? that's tough 'cause I remember building my tug o' war 'bot and
trying to get it under 1.5--no fun at all. 3 pounds? double my last 'bot?
that's just 2 more motors, another RCX and some bricks--not doing it for me.
We'll see what other people say about a weight restriction
I also like the 'canot be stopped for more than 10 seconds'. This would, of
course, also mean *any* movement--like Chris's claw arm in the first 'battlebot'
competition that we all loved--it was the only part of his 'bot still able to
move ;)

| (...) I started with 3. Then I thought about it, and went 3 to 5. Once you get beyond 5 or 6 pounds (with LEGO) then people are just being excessive. And, I know excessive. (...) Robot with melted clutch gear = not good Terminator-style claw still (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
