I started with 3. Then I thought about it, and went 3 to 5. Once
you get beyond 5 or 6 pounds (with LEGO) then people are just being
excessive. And, I know excessive.

Robot with melted clutch gear = not good
Terminator-style claw still trying to clutch at the opponent = good
Wheels spinning in the air = not good
Spinning blades of death trying to rip wires from other robots = good

K, I like Steve's idea--I was going for the 24 by 24 with the 18+ battery boxes, but to keep things reasonable, the 12 x 12 is a perfectly good restriction 3-5 pounds? that's tough 'cause I remember building my tug o' war 'bot and trying to (...)
