  Re: rtl21 B

(...) Yes but his design relied on speed as well. So what he really needed is a dual drive system that allowed a high torque motor to come into play when the high speed motor was stalled. I built one of these for my king of the hill robot which (...) (18 years ago, 3-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Just so we all get it: This is a photo, of Calum staging a photo of Ka On, taking a photo. (URL) this is a good shot of my robot winning over a robot built by a rocket scientist.   Re: rtlToronto22 Ideas?

(...) There wer a couple of reason for wanting flat cubes, and the fact that many of us only had about a plate worth of clearence between the cube placing/sensing assembly and a filled cell below was one of these issues. As to sensing, we used (...) (18 years ago, 3-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto22 Ideas?

(...) um, we talked about this a LOT for the C$ game. in theory, you DONT need to even use a light sensor. in fact. didnt your leader only use touch for his C$? Chris (18 years ago, 3-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto22 Ideas?

(...) One problem (or at least challenge) with the soccer/baseketball idea. To a light sensor, they have the potential to look exactly the same (i.e. - tell the two of them apart with high accuracy is not an easy thing to do). (18 years ago, 3-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtl21 B

(...) hummm, i dont think i follow this logic. I wanted the speed to try to get to the end of the table as fast a possiable. I had the torque, with the worm to 24, and it was driven with the slower port of the RC motor. OFF TOPIC!!! (calum dont read (...) (18 years ago, 3-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtlToronto22 Ideas?

Is there a reason to use square blocks? Just to make it a harder material handling problem? How about a shape more amenable to handling...say something with handles? -Rob A> (18 years ago, 3-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: rtl21 B

(...) Then you should have geared them down more. If it was possible to stall the motors, and the tires weren't slipping then your speed would have been reduced more, increasing your torque until you got to a point just before they would slip. -Rob (...)   Re: rtl21 B

(...) Seriously, I think the tires were too sticky. When the bot met with something "immovable" (like an anchor bot) then the bot would STOP. I really dont recall, but I think, none of my loss's were do to actually being PULLED. (I expect to be (...) (18 years ago, 3-Aug-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Dave's tears - R21 the results

(...) Aren't the stickiness that made your motor stall, or was it the RC motor turning itself off? So here are my pics: (URL) Highlights: Chris keep getting distracted by (URL) food> and (URL) talking>, and forgot to test his robot properly. Calum (...)
