  Re: R20 - ideas for a gun

(...) WOW!! I've always thought about it. but never went to my shop to get them. I wear them with the power tool use, but cant seem to make that final motion with lego. (...) Yep. I understand. Chris (19 years ago, 28-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: R20 - robot questions

(...) Well, my thought is: If you build some kind of "gun" you would be hard pressed to vary the velocity of the block. Also, will "your" robot always shoot from 3" or from across the play area? Will you change the velocity depending how far away (...) (19 years ago, 28-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: R20 - ideas for a gun

(...) I already do, when testing anyway. I have a crane that can lift many kg's. Due to the elastic nature of plastic a lot of energy is stored in the structure when under compression. One time somethings broke and I had two bricks fly either side (...) (19 years ago, 28-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: R20 - robot questions

(...) How hard are you planning to shoot em'? Will it leave a dent in the wall? If its necessary for one, as otherwise they will fall out, I'm sure I can incorporate something into my robot. Vitali (19 years ago, 28-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  R20 - robot questions

question to the 14 people who have said they will be making a robot. lets just say; I was using some kind of "gun" to shoot blocks into other robots. Would i need to worry about blocks bouncing back out? will people be building some kind of Anti (...) (19 years ago, 28-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

NEW CONTEST was Re: R20 - ideas for a gun

(...) Keep in mind, that I just used a very quick "throw it together" test platform. due to the set up of the magazine in relation to the "bat," I did not use a 15 long beam. In fact mine was much shorter (5L.) The end is that I never got a reliable (...) (19 years ago, 28-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: R20 - ideas for a gun

(...) So what happened? Inquiring minds and sheet glass salesmen want to know. (...) Sign to place on Chris's door: "Do not look into R20 machine with remaining eyeball". (19 years ago, 28-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  R20 - ideas for a gun

While I have built a shooter that works fairly well; see this post: (URL) quest for something better. So, I tried this: (URL) just say, I did not the get same results. So, now I am off to play with counter spinning wheels. I swear I think sometimes (...) (19 years ago, 28-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: More Inspiration

(...) I might mention that there's a website that you can do art on-line. It's not stepper motor technology, but, eh, it does hte job... (URL) I've so been planning a plotter 'bot for ages--asked Rob S for his plotter 'bot instructions, and now that (...) (19 years ago, 27-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: More Inspiration

(...) I wanted to do an "art" rtlToronto competition many years ago, but no one except Iain and I were interested. One of the ideas was to lay out large swaths of paper on a table and make mobile plotters. Calum (19 years ago, 27-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

  More Inspiration

I discovered this site today: "The Art of Motion Control" (URL) and though it might provide some inspiration.... In particular, I love the sand plotters: (2 URLs) and the stepper motor egg plotter: (2 URLs) (which he helps kids to build on their own (...)   Re: The Spring Toy, Train and Doll show

Re: The Spring Toy, Train and Doll show

(...) Is this the quasi-substitute for The Hobby Show that we talked about back in November? i.e. are we planning a Hobby Show-like display, along with the train layout? AB (19 years ago, 26-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Yep, email posting is busted for me. Now I need to remember how to set it up again. It's been so long since I've been out of lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto I don't remember where to go. :-) Derek (19 years ago, 25-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
