(...) As much as I think the key/mouse set are pretty, the $78 is a rip off. I think I'll end up using the $18 Microsoft USB "desk set". (...) I don't think there's even a fan in there. (...)   Re: Who is building a ministacker?

(...) rtlToronto's old was painted grey. It was stolen by thieves. The new one is unpainted, but will have two corners painted, 18x18" square, within a few weeks. Calum (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Who is building a ministacker?

(...) Yes, they will be painted onto the starting squares, they will be 18x18". No we have not done this--I just sent a note to Chris about this last night :) Calum (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Who is building a ministacker?

(...) I got confused by that. too. The rules say pained corners, and using Dave's playfield, plain plywood, 8x8. I thought Daves was 4x4, and painted grey. Thought RTl's was 8x8 painted grey... what is it? -Rob A. (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Who is building a ministacker?

(...) Hey Rob, We're going with the 8x8 field, not the 4x4. I dunno how smooth the joint is on the 8x8--I think the center part is good 'casue it's got the piano hinge under it, but out to the edges, where there's no hinge, there's a bit of a lip. (...)   Re: Brick - plate plate - brick

(...) I warn you, if you think a block-stacker is parts-intensive, the GBC is far worse.   Re: Brick - plate plate - brick

(...) I'm pretty impressed by the fact they managed to bring down an Apple product to nearly afforable prices. $500 USD, given current exchange rates, is a steal. (...) Janey, I'll wager Chris is talking about the black magic (otherwise known as Technic) way of stuffing 2 layers of plates between each layer of bricks. But I've been wrong before... ROSCO (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
