  Re: Thoughts on drag racing

(...) Oh - true. I was just thinking use the "Program 1" start button on the remote. Forgot other people use other OS'. Iain (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  GLIS

Well what used to be a reasonably priced, $3.99, 9 compartment PLANO like storage container from IKEA, is now an over priced, $6.99 waste of money. I liked the GLIS storage containers and at $3.99 they were a great deal, and quite useful. Sometime (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Thoughts on drag racing

(...) As long as the message is in a standardized form that can easily be understood by all OSs used by members of RTL, then this would work. Declaring Program 1 doesn't work because different OSs have different interpretations of what a program is. (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Thoughts on drag racing

(...) I like this idea, because it guarentees that both robots will have their programs started at the same time. Mandate that everyone must use a common program slot for their running program (ie, Program 1). (...) Did you ask for more homework in (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Dinner

(...) I asked a year ago, and was told it they tore it up. I was at Blue again last month and over conversation with an employee, was told they tore it up because of maintenance cost concerns. Calum (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Dinner

(...) Well unless they have something new, as Calum recently discovered, they tore the old one out a couple of years ago. Derek (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Dinner

Well it looks like dinner is on it's regular schedule. Unfortunately this means I'm going to miss it. I'll be driving through Enfield about that time. Actually I'll be driving through Enfield about that time on Thursday. But it makes the point I (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: NQC problem...driving me insane!

(...) You should check to make sure your light sensor is in fact changing more than 5 counts. Start by changing the above code to 2 or 3. I don't recall with NQC, but with some languages (BrickOS) the values are backwards, so you may need to check (...) (20 years ago, 5-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Thoughts on drag racing

First off, this competition sounds like some good, mindless fun! So I started building a drag racer over the weekend and have a few thoughts. Starting: I am wondering about starting methods. How are we going to ensure the drag racers start at the (...) (20 years ago, 5-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  4496 Tub

I finally opened one of the two 4496's I bought. (I know Derek bought like a skid of them.) It's a nice collection: More 2xN than 4107. Closer to the famed 3033. Lots of slopes. Some plates. A bit of grey, DGreen, LimeGreen, orange, LBlue etc... (...) (20 years ago, 4-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: NQC problem...driving me insane!

(...) Well, actually, that code works fine (running MacNQC, a fairly recent version, with 2.0 firmware). One thing to check, code-wise, is to display SENSOR_1 on the LCD, and see what the numbers are (is it set to raw mode? Is the sensor bad (I've (...)   NQC problem...driving me insane!

Hey all, I know I must be doing something very simple wrong here - but I can't for the life of me figure it out. What I'm trying to do: Have a light sensor pointed at a surface. Pass that value off to a variable (the variable then contains the (...) (20 years ago, 4-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Racing in drag

(...) You wouldn't need to have a line. Simple edge detection would work. As for the oval track, we had an "Indy 5.00" event early in May. The track was a white piece of paper, with a white to black gradiant printed on it. The whole thing was on a (...) (20 years ago, 3-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
