I like this idea, because it guarentees that both robots will have their
programs started at the same time. Mandate that everyone must use a common
program slot for their running program (ie, Program 1).

I'm of the thinking that races will happen *very* quickly - there isn't really
any setup time involved (drop your robot behind the starting line and align it).
Someone will have to get clever about scoring though. I like your idea of
having a program which logs the time for each robot.

Why not have it filter a glass of water while on its way to the finish line? :)

| (...) As long as the message is in a standardized form that can easily be understood by all OSs used by members of RTL, then this would work. | (...) Instead of using a particular program slot, just have everyone listen for a specific message at the beginning of their code.
