  Re: Dinner

(...) Well unless they have something new, as Calum recently discovered, they tore the old one out a couple of years ago. Derek (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) without the gutter to run in. Wow you have to steer and control your speed. Cool! There's also this race track to check out. :-) (URL) there aren't any events on while you are there. But the driving school should be running. Derek (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Dinner

Well it looks like dinner is on it's regular schedule. Unfortunately this means I'm going to miss it. I'll be driving through Enfield about that time. Actually I'll be driving through Enfield about that time on Thursday. But it makes the point I (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: 4496 Tub

(...) I agree. Nice piece selection, especially the lime green and the light blue. Ben Medinets (20 years ago, 5-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: NQC problem...driving me insane!

(...) You should check to make sure your light sensor is in fact changing more than 5 counts. Start by changing the above code to 2 or 3. I don't recall with NQC, but with some languages (BrickOS) the values are backwards, so you may need to check (...) (20 years ago, 5-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Thoughts on drag racing

First off, this competition sounds like some good, mindless fun! So I started building a drag racer over the weekend and have a few thoughts. Starting: I am wondering about starting methods. How are we going to ensure the drag racers start at the (...) (20 years ago, 5-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  4496 Tub

I finally opened one of the two 4496's I bought. (I know Derek bought like a skid of them.) It's a nice collection: More 2xN than 4107. Closer to the famed 3033. Lots of slopes. Some plates. A bit of grey, DGreen, LimeGreen, orange, LBlue etc... (...) (20 years ago, 4-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: NQC problem...driving me insane!

(...) Well, actually, that code works fine (running MacNQC, a fairly recent version, with 2.0 firmware). One thing to check, code-wise, is to display SENSOR_1 on the LCD, and see what the numbers are (is it set to raw mode? Is the sensor bad (I've (...)   NQC problem...driving me insane!

Hey all, I know I must be doing something very simple wrong here - but I can't for the life of me figure it out. What I'm trying to do: Have a light sensor pointed at a surface. Pass that value off to a variable (the variable then contains the (...) (20 years ago, 4-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Racing in drag

(...) You wouldn't need to have a line. Simple edge detection would work. As for the oval track, we had an "Indy 5.00" event early in May. The track was a white piece of paper, with a white to black gradiant printed on it. The whole thing was on a (...) (20 years ago, 3-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: [rtlToronto] rtlToronto16 Video Available

(...) Yes I will. Watch out! Rob (20 years ago, 2-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Racing in drag

(...) Naw, this sounds dumb. You would have to make lines so the robot knows where a corner is, etc. Now if we had an oval track with banked turns, that would be cool :) Rob (20 years ago, 2-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Racing in drag

(...) do you guys hear something??? I thought I heard a sound coming from way over there.... naw, I guess I could be wrong. Chris post # 12 to getting RTl back in the swing of things. now we just need to find cow-dice. DAVE, where are you!? (20 years ago, 2-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Racing in drag

(...) You might want to consider having two 90-degree turns, in opposite directions (so that you finish traveling in the same direction in which you started). That way both contestants (assuming there are only two at a time) will have the same (...) (20 years ago, 2-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Racing in drag

I know how much you guy value my opinion, so I thought I'd offer a suggestion which would prevent rtl 17 from being a totally lame event. Most of the rtl events are more a question of "Can you accomplish this task?" not "How well can you accomplist (...) (20 years ago, 2-Jul-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
