I am still somewhat sore and achey. my mother in law leaves in a few days. the sunday christening happened. i did manage to find my toothbrush, But could not find my cufflinks. OH, the (...)   Re: Metroliner (10001)

NO, the metroliner is a ~BAD~ set. STAY AWAY from all train stuff like the plague!!!! you'd be better off spending your hard earned $$ on a set that will ~DO~ something. oh sure, others will tell you that a motorized layout can do(?) something. but (...)   Re: Metroliner (10001)

(...) Sorry, by that I meant, clearance 4561's or normal 4512's. However, there was a big sale before Christmas where the 4512 was only $120 or so at Toys R Us. (...) Well, you need to have some prerequisites: a) Unemployment or lack of a life. b) (...) (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Metroliner (10001)

(...) Where are there clearance 4512's?? I purchased a few 4561s on clearance years ago, but would love a 4512, but not willing unless there's a little discount :) Dave K -who would love to hit the Sears Clearance in Brampton as much as some others (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Metroliner (10001)

(...) I think it's a question of what you want to achieve: -Do you want a set of all the "train pieces" so you can build your own? -Do you want a nicely rounded set which stands on its own? If it's more of the former, then there's clearance 4561's, (...) (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: must ... stop... buying... LEGO...!!!!

(...) Well, Derek, JeffVW and I just ordered one each too. So don't feel bad, you'll have company in a fleet of other Toronto home ported ships. :) I have to say I'm quite rather eager about getting this set! Calum (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Volunteer needed for container swap BFDC2004

(...) Jeff, are you gonna just stand there and be nominated like that?! Avoid work like the plague! Because if you don't, I'm gonna nominate you to organize rtlToronto16, 17 and train7. :) Calum (20 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: must ... stop... buying... LEGO...!!!!

(...) Now I ordered the 10152 Maersk ship. So all that money I saved on Friday night at WalMart by not buying any LEGO... For Not!!!! Eh, is only money. It'd only go to trivial things like mortgage payments and car insurance... Dave K (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Metroliner (10001)

(...) The Metroliner is a great set, and probably the best one that's out there right now, but you are right it doesn't come with a regulator. It does however come with a motor. This makes it a good second set. I would recommend getting something (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Metroliner (10001)

(...) The Metroloiner is a decent set and it would be wise to pick one up before it disappears again. The set does require a regulator which is not included. They can be gotten cheap on ebay or bricklink. Lego sells them for $40 but they can be had (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
