Steve made some tentative changes to the layout on TD and wrote:

In regards to color bands, John wrote:

OK - So - Michel is stock containers, I'm yellow, and John is blue.
Does anyone else want to make some dummy containers? There's
still lots of color bands left to pick from...
Coal? I'd say no, since black coal bricks in black hoppers cars won't
show up, and the grain should be white bricks not yellow anyway, right?
I wanted to run the monorail mostly around the edge so the pillars wouldn't
be in the way of the rest of the layout, and to give me the maximum length
for the >100" span bridge. However, I certainly don't want it getting
bumped off the tables and with track all around the edges, there isnt
really anywhere on the left and right to put the ends of the bridge.
I dont see how the >100 will work unless I cut back on the track at the
bottom of the layout. In addition to the world record monorail bridge,
I wanted to showcase my new bridge design concept. However, I don't
think I have enough LEGO (or time) to do both. Perhaps I should just
make a >30 bridge to span the water section, and run the monorail from
the station on the left up, over and down the right to whatever that blue
plate represents. What does everyone else think?
