(...) OK - I expect to use use all the straights - Firmer numbers forthcoming. (...) If you don't mind it being left "un-attended" in the play area, sure. TLC will probably be sending some Duplo train stuff, but we certainly can never have too much. (...) (24 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

Michel Magnan wrote in message ... (...) 12 seemed just enough for the last layout. For future layouts, I'd say we'd need somewhere between 16-24. (...) Yes, it was a bit short, but if you have one rope and make it taller, then small folks will (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

As far as track, I have 7 pair of switches, 2 of the crossovers and atleast (but not a lot more than) 190 curves and 150 straights. If you aren't going to motorize the play area, do you want me to bring some of our Duplo trains and track? They used (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

For the rope barriers I used 1 1/4 inch rigid PVC conduit, it is used for built in vaccuums. One end is female, they are 10 feet long. I used grey, because the white ones in St Paul were so old and dirty they were almost grey! White would be much (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

(...) <snip> (...) I just realized that instead of clamps, we could use 100' of duct tape per table. More labor intensive to setup, but safer and stronger. SRC StRuCtures (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

(...) Yes - I was thinking it could go towards the poles and rope and table cloths and concrete? plaster?!? ;-) and if any was left, towards the actual buckets (for the bases) themselves. Hopefully we can find 12 or 16 red basic buckets on sale in (...) (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

Show prep on Jan 13 (was Re: SuperTrain 2001 - I'll be there)

(...) Cool! This is rockin' news. That frees up some of the GETS money to deal with other costs. (...) Hmm. Is it a surfaced hardboard? I'm wondering if we should get an already surfaced material, or just paint the heck out of plain wood... I guess (...) (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

(...) Ok. All things being equal, I'd still like to have them available. (...) Hmm. You've never owned a van, have you Steve? :) Trust me, space going down is *not* an issue. (...) Did anyone notice if the SW buckets are among the things on sale at (...) (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  Re: First 2001 draft?

(...) I can't say it's a model that appeals to me. If there's interest in a draft, then I'd kick in for 1, just to be sociable, but otherwise, I ain't interested. James (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)
