  I'm a Dad!

:) Riana Kalen showed up at 11:17 PM last night, at 5 lbs, 15 ounces. Mother and baby are doing fine. :) (so don't expect any coherent messages from me about the next train show for a while, guys...) James (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.people, lugnet.org.ca.nalug) !

Re: NALUG takes 2nd at Great Edmonton Train Show

(...) Well considering that train bridges are currently the prime focus of StRuCtures, it's a natural for NALug to showcase them. The simple monorail one at the show last week was a basic concept test - larger and more elaborate ones are on the way. (...)   Re: New Interurban/Trolley model, perfect for those downtown scenes

(...) Just wanted to point out that the quoted words up there are Chris Gray's. Chris's sig made me laugh, and that is all I commented about. Chris (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

Re: NALUG takes 2nd at Great Edmonton Train Show

Michel Magnan wrote in message ... (...) one. (...) allow (...) beams (...) Did I here someone say "Technic beams"? :-] There are numerous ways to get the necessary clearance, and Technic beams would certainly do it. Also, the second bridge could (...)   Big buildings

If we're going to make a bigger and better layout, we're going to need bigger and better buildings. I'm thinking John would make a skyscraper with crane under construction, and James would make some buildings along these lines... (URL) can make (...)   Re: Big Red 8

The Chessie engine and caboose were built by Steve Barile, really great models. Michel (...) (24 years ago, 28-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug, lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

Re: NALUG takes 2nd at Great Edmonton Train Show

Kevin, With the decals that model really rocks, we would have won first place if the decals had been on the model at the show! (...) I intend to rebuild the bridge, how much clearance, widthwise does big red need? The first layout I have been (...)   Big Red 8 (was Re: NALUG takes 2nd at Great Edmonton Train Show)

(...) I can just imagine your chest swelling whilst over-hearing that... :-) (...) What was the "Chelsie" modeled after? I thought it was the best one there. Sorry - Big Red 8 doesn't really count, since it's in a different class. If my layout is (...) (24 years ago, 28-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug, lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

Re: NALUG takes 2nd at Great Edmonton Train Show

I think I missed this one (Big Red) some how. What are the handrails made from? SteveB PNLTC (...) slight (...) (24 years ago, 28-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug, lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

Re: NALUG takes 2nd at Great Edmonton Train Show

(...) :) Thankyou! :) (...) Um... Ok, I won't. ;) A sketch of what it would've looked like if I'd gotten around to applying (purists beware) the decals (gasp!) can be found here - (URL) not entirely complete, detail-wise, and the lettering should (...)   Space and Arch photos (was Re: BrickShelf error )

(...) Spaces aren't allowed? Oh - OK - <tries again with no spaces...> Hey - It works. Since space was the problem, I uploaded my photos from the Air & Space Museum that I shot on my visit to Virginia. :-) (URL) photos that I was trying to upload in (...)   more SW UCS sets (was Re: after action report)

(...) I don't know about ALL, but probably most. Buy more? OK - twist my arm. :-) There's a TRU a few blocks from work and one a few blocks from home - I'll see what I can do this evening. SRC (24 years ago, 28-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  Re: after action report

(...) Lol - I can see it now – other husbands hide photos of naked women, while Michel has to hide layout diagrams. 8-) (...) There’s a Calgary LUGNet site? Certainly Calgary AFOLs should be the ones to do a Calgary show, but I thought we’d only (...) (24 years ago, 28-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  Re: after action report

(...) They could be stored here, too. I've got room for them in my garage. Added bonus - in my garage they could be set up for a trial run like we did out at your place. (...) Yeah. Expensive, needs to be cleaned, more complicated set-up, etc. poles (...) (24 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

  Re: after action report

(...) :) Want to compare notes? (URL) is the only one with track on it. (...) I could also very likely go to Supertrain 2001. This would solve the transport problem; I could bring down all the tables & and a lot of the models. (...) Me too. If we (...) (24 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

(...) Not yet, I don't want to push my luck. It was bad enough that she saw me sketching plans for the next layout last night! Actually, while driving home, I told her that I was sad that I had missed the 20% off sale on the large Star Wars sets, (...) (24 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)

Re: New Interurban/Trolley model, perfect for those downtown scenes

(...) <snip> (...) <snip> (...) Actually, a couple of the NMRA brass-types admitted to me that this is a real and significant problem they're experiencing.   BrickShelf error (was Re: Fun with Track Designer...)

(...) Aren't you a daddy yet? :-) Oh well - All in good time. (...) days now, and whenever I try to upload, I get an "Internal Server Error". I've e-mailed Kevin Loch about it, but no response/reply. Am I the only one experiencing this problem? SRC (24 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug, lugnet.general)

  Re: after action report

(...) Good to hear - remember your family is more important than any amount of LEGO. Spend time with them rather than us whenver they want to.
