Sure, I just thought maybe if we're gonna start talking about organisational
stuff, who's doing what with train tables, what we want to call ourselves
(nice to have a name for train shows), how we handle money / bricks / other
resources (as a group) etc its nicer to keep it out of .loc.au. Maybe .org.au
is OK for now.
Maybe if we can agree on a name, we could get a .org.trains group set up.
The Americans love the (Location)LTC form (much as they love the (loc)LUG.)
Anyone want to express a preference? Is there any objection to forming a
"Australian" group that meets/draws from eastern captials?
Only one I can think to add to the list is AusLTC (but see my vote below!). >I'd probably favour a country-wide club initially.

Final Call for naming of The Australian LEGO Train Club.

Currently
TALC (Trains of Australian LEGO Clubs) Two votes.
For other suggestions see previous posts.

Taken from the "diary" at the Australian model railway magazine site. If
anyone has a better time/place/date please chime in!!
MARSFIELD - NSW. June 8-10, 2002 at the Epping Boys High School, Cnr Epping
Rd & Vimera Rd, Marsfield. Open 10am-5pm (Sat/Sun/Mon). Admission $8/$4/ >>>>$20.
Organised by the Epping Model Railway Club Inc. Enquiries: Alan Tarrant >>>>(02)4365 5046.
Yep, it's a long w'end. I have just spoken to Alan, he'll talk to the
organising commitee Friday and get back to us. I assured him that we wanted
to do a professional layout. This is going to mean nothing
unfinished/missing and probably a dry run January sometime.

More news here.

Alan has Okayed the idea of a LEGO layout, and I gave the dimensions as 4x3m
(ie, 16x12 baseplates outside perimeter.) Small I know, this is our first.

I'll work on layout plans but if anyone else wants to do a plan please do!
And post it on brickshelf or similar.

I'll work out a proposal to LEGO Australia (with Kev's help once he's over
christmas) and we'll approach them for sponsorship.

Still to be sorted: Tables, info from show people regarding reimbursal of
transport costs, volunteers to man (err.. person) the display, Time and
place for a dry run of the display (probably Feb/Mar) for show people
evaluation.

James (who get all his LEGO from home early January!)

(...) Not that I have a vote or anything, but I just thought I'd toss in my .01 AUS... Seems to me that "TALC", while forming a pronouncable word, is kind of clumsy at best when working out the name ("clubs" plural?? Are there more than 1?) And what (...) (23 years ago, 2-Dec-01, to lugnet.org.au)
