Re: OT: P!$#ed of at ebay.com.au

(...) OK, the top dumbest thing is U.S. weights and measures (pounds, gallons, inches, feet, miles, etc.) rather than the metric system, which fully rules. And the third dumbest thing is U.S. paper sizes (Letter, Ledger, Statement, etc.) rather than (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.au, lugnet.loc.au)

(...) I'm annoyed by it too -- and I'm American! I think the American dating system (mm/dd/yyyy) are the second dumbest thing on the entire planet. dd/mm/yyyy makes so much more sense. --Todd (24 years ago, 5-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.au, lugnet.loc.au)

  OT: P!$#ed of at ebay.com.au

This is quite off-topic but does not apply to people outside of aus so I'm posting here. <begin rant> Does it annoy anyone else that ebay.com.AU is meant to be an Australian site but uses the American dating system mm/dd/yy rather than ours (...)   Re: New Promo at TRU

(...) I was about to say, "what's new here?" when I realized that this is in .au... Interesting, we don't have either of those sets available separately here in the US (that I've seen at least). Frank (24 years ago, 4-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.au)

  New Promo at TRU

Hi All, While browsing the lego shelves at TRU, I noticed they are selling a US based Arctic theme bonus pact containing sets 6578 and 6586 for just under $14.00. As the 6586 normally goes for closer to $20.00, this seems to be a good deal. The 6578 (...) (24 years ago, 4-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.au)

Re: When is Lego actually considered old?

Hi Kerry, Like most lego sets the early technic sets contained rare if not unique pieces. Even if you had spares of these pieces, the sets are worth far more with original instructions than with scans. These sets are collector items, originality is (...) (24 years ago, 4-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.au)

  LA does something right...

While talking to a manager (?) at a toyworld near work at lunch today I found out a little bit of info about the soccer sets. It seems that these sets are popular, as the local store has sold out, and they were told by LA that they are on (...) (24 years ago, 4-Oct-00, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)
