in .debate

.debate is a scary place. I'm not going there.

but as a libertarian you can see my point of view.

As for the rest of your post, I have my reasons for preferring that LUGNET not
be a particular battleground about freedom of speech, but that the battle
instead be held elsewhere, important as it is,

fair enuff.  I'm sure todd does not want to be on the wrong end of governmet
lawyers.  BUT STILL  I have valid points.  its all about balance.  as I said
this whole point would have DIED on its own....  much like my FIJ ideas, i
despise the heavy hand that enforces rules that we both know were set up for one
reason, only to be used in a place that really they should not apply.

in this case you became the ashcroft figure going after the "little guy."  you
know damn well that it was in fun.  AND you are smart enuff to know that those
"coded" messges were easily decoded by ANYONE.

Now, if it got to the point that it KEPT going on, and the "codes" got
unbreakable, then YES, it would have been appropriate to step in and mention
something.

and I have my reasons for wanting
to support Todd and his ToS as I understand it, to the best of my ability. You
may not like it but there you are.

I dont know your reasons, you have never stated them (to me).  vaild or not. I
just get this knee jerk reaction to bullies and lawyers.

Please understand my position even if you do not agree.

I cant, because you've not provided any substance to me.  e-mail me privately if
you think your reasons are "seceret"  (or dont.....)

I'll say this much.

I will let this go... if you do.

.foo should be a place of tolerance.  if we continue to play in !THIS! sand box,
the rules sould be to "wait and see."  otherwise  this place could get ugly;
then todd WILL step in, and we will not have anyplace to play.

as far as i understand,  there is no NG set up in lugnet to "goof off" like we
do here.
