Yeah, I have used PartitionMagic for years and never had problems with it.
It's a decent recommendation over the other products being discussed.  The
interface is straight-forward enough that one refers to the manuals only
sparingly.

One of the reasons I like PartitionMagic is that I have a tendency to • create
a partition for the OS, a partition for apps, and then the rest is • whatever
I feel like at the moment.  I put all my "proprietary" files in the extra,
non OS/app partition(s).  Should I need to reinstall the OS or apps, it
never touches *my stuff*.  Should I want to reformat a drive, no worries.
Etc. Etc. Etc...

I tend to use it mainly to reconfigure that partitions on a new machine when
our company buys one - I'd rather have 2 or 3 partitions that just 1 so I
can separate OS & apps from user documents, it makes reinstalling "safer" as
the user won't lose anything, and makes backups easier - I just backup up
drive D on each machine, and don't have to worry about backing up the OS or
apps.

I also use it on development machines so I can keep a copy of a fresh
install on the system - if I screw something up on the active partition I
can just copy over the known working partition and get the machine up and
running again. It's also great when I need to test some software on a virgin
OS - just copy the fresh partition to to the active partition, install the
software, and test. Much quicker than setting up a machine from scratch :)
