I hope you will not be too tough on her. She probably found the assignment and
thought it sounded good and assigned it without taking the time to try it out
herself (happens more at this time of year when teachers are getting swamped
with stuff and need new ideas to hold their attention). Actually it sounds
like a fun assignment to me too-- if my second grader were to bring it home I
think he (and I!) would have fun with it!. Plus, I'm normally not disturbed by
assignments like these because I figure if MY kid has trouble, other kids are
having MORE trouble. (Yeah, Lar, I guess you're not the only arrogant one
around here.)

| (...) Part of the problem was bad communication (by Nik to us). This was an enrichment assignment, not a mandatory one. And only some of the kids got it, it wasn't intended to actually be solved... (I know this now because Jo called me, it's been (...) (24 years ago, 12-Apr-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

| (...) Just getting *over* 100 is quite easy, you just need words that have a number of late alpahabet letters. Since R, S, and T are common letters and are late in the alphabet you are all set. Like I said, ironically, "alphabet" itself is 99... so (...) (24 years ago, 12-Apr-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
