In lugnet.off-topic.geek, Jennifer L. Boger writes: I've tried this using my TT to Mixer to LineIn on the SB but I get too much hiss. I assume this is due to interference from inside my computer.   Ripping Vinyl to Digital

Has anyone transferred their LP's to MP3 or CD audio? I'm just getting started, and I'd appreciate any hints, tips or warnings! What I've done so far: I've patched the tape-out on my amplifier to the line-in on my sound card. Since I'm running Win98 (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) Yes and no. I get plenty of data, not much of it useful. Anyway, that's a machine of the past. Reformatting resolves many problems (and causes many others). Steve (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: NTFS driver for Linux?

Hmm. I'm running 2.2.12, mount says that ntfs isn't supported. Is this something I should need a newer version (I see 2.2.13 & 14 on kernelnotes.org) or just some hints on how to use what I've already got? -- -Steven "Nothin' But Net!" (URL) Hodge" (...)   Re: Is it possible to run Win98 and WinNT on the same machine?

(...) You mean you don't get more data than you know what to do with when you go to Administrative Tools and run Event Viewer? I usually get enough data to figure out what's going on at least. Fixing it may be another problem. (25 years ago, 2-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) to (...) Yep, it's in the 2.2 kernel. I assume that the write support will no longer by experiemental in the upcomming 2.4 kernel, but until then make sure you can recover from a trashed partition.
