Linear Thinking - this is an interesting test —Bob Parker
Subject: Linear Thinking Hello, I want to know your answer. After you tell me your answer, I'll tell you why I want to know. Be honest! This is interesting..... Do the math problems below in your head, then go on to the next one as soon as you (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

OK, I got that answer too. Why? That seems completely counterintuitive to me. Yet clearly it has SOMETHING to do with the subconscious or something. This 98% figure, is it just english speakers, or westerners or what? (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Linear Thinking - this is an interesting test —Bob Parker
(...) I'm afraid that this is an email I received from my boss's wife so I have no real answers to anybody's questions.        (...) Me too. Google didn't get me anything useful, just a whole bunch of copies of the test; no source or useful speculation. Any psych majors around? James (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Linear Thinking - this is an interesting test —Ross Crawford
(...) Dunno, but I'd hazard a guess that red hammer would be a pretty common response even without the maths questions. ROSCO (who's normal too....) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Linear Thinking - this is an interesting test —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Common? sure. The alleged 98% ??? (no way to check whether it's true in fact)... strains the coincidence envelope. (22 years ago, 7-Sep-02, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
