  Re: So it's finally 2002..

(...) Come to New York and see 2001 in Times Square. Unless it ended its run last night, a restored edition was playing in one theatre. I think it's across the street from McDonald's. They're watching and waiting. (23 years ago, 1-Jan-02, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Mountain bike advice

(...) Well, my current bike cost $100...new. It also has no suspension, the frame is rusty, the rear wheel is irrepairably bent (so that it wobbles about 1.5 inches) so the rear (sidepull) brakes hardly work, the front gear shift cable snapped, only (...)   Re: Mountain bike advice

(...) Hey Bram, Allan's made some very good points about splurging on a better bike for fewer problems down the line. Personally, I'm (still, after several years) saving my pennies for a Cannondale, however, here's a couple of things that might help (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: LoTR # 1 on IMDB, Beowulf on NYTimes bestseller list

(...) Well, it wasn't the significant focus of my schoolwork, but I have read mythology almost all my life. The reason I am disadvantaged in giving a truly well-rounded answer to your question is that I haven't "read" Tolkien, but only saw this LOTR (...)   Re: Mountain bike advice

(...) Hey Bram! Great questions. Let me chime in with my two cents. 1) Don't spend $200 - $400 on a bike. Spend more. Bottom line is that you get what you pay for and bikes are no exception. We made the mistake several years ago of spending ~ $150 (...) (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Mountain bike advice

Hey all, I'm looking for a new bike cause my current one is falling apart. Does anyone here have advice on the best mountain bike I can get for $200-$400, or any other advice pertaining to purchasing a bike? I would like at least front suspension, (...)   Re: Fellowship

(...) Much as I hate to dispute Hop-Frog, I thought the shows were pretty cheesy. Of course, I watched all 3 tapes, so I may be biased... Aslan did *look* fairly decent, but didn't move very well. Steve (23 years ago, 26-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: LoTR # 1 on IMDB, Beowulf on NYTimes bestseller list

Yes, it is the Seamus Heaney translation of Beowulf. I started reading it in the airport. In the foreword he makes clear his intentions to use old words current only among his Irish relatives, and English words clearly inherited from Irish, such as (...)   An Interesting Idea Involving Video Game Console Memory Card Labels

Re: LoTR # 1 on IMDB
