To answer the original question regarding 9v disparity -- as answered by an inside person with whom I spoke... It was a matter of licensing. WBros granted another toy train mfr exclusive rights to market an electric toy train model of the HE. dan (23 years ago, 24-Sep-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.trains)
