  Re: Shell Autoshow Ferrari

(...) Unfortunately, like the Titanic, they plowed ahead and produced the thing even after they received poor public reaction at the NAIAS last year. (...) There were some pretty heinous ones back in the 70's, thought this one looks like a cross (...) (24 years ago, 2-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Shell Autoshow Ferrari

(...) Now ya talking. If I could own any car in the world it would be a red holden comodore SS UTE (like the one I attempted to build out of technic) (24 years ago, 2-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Shell Autoshow Ferrari

(...) Yea, verily. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the first preprod at the auto show, and the production version is, if anything, even uglier. I'd say it was the worst (looking) vehicle the General has ever foisted on the public, but there (...) (24 years ago, 2-Feb-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Patent Awarded for Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich

Patents are just a Civil government's way of playing the same game the Monarch's had with Royal Grants and Monopolies. Only thing that has changed is who gets the kickbacks. A little quote that makes me laugh "The examination of applictions for (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Problems with Darwin's theory

(...) Nonsense! Why, just last week I saw lightning. How can you explain it other than Zeus? For that matter, I suppose you're going to suggest that the accompanying rain was *not* Zeus urinating through a seive? Dave! (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Problems with Darwin's theory

(...) Well, not that I want to bring up any ugly memories or anything, but I'll content myself with saying that Larry still hasn't proved that Greek gods exist, let along that they're visiting the moon and bringing back rocks. James (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Patent Awarded for Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich

(...) I'd claim prior art, but I'm having trouble with the "art" part. Cheers, - jsproat (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Star Trek Humor. What the REAL use of Windows is...

Windows 95 Vs. The Borg Picard "Mr. LaForge, have you had any success with your attempts at finding a weakness in the Borg? And Mr. Data, have you been able to access their command pathways?" Geordi "Yes, Captain. In fact, we found the answer by (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Patent Awarded for Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich

This is another absurdity from the US Patent Office. We know they're completely out of touch these days, that's beyond debating, and I'd rather not. They have now allowed a patent on the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The kind with crimped edges. (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Keeping Our Schools Safe

(...) Assuming I went to public school. eric (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: Keeping Our Schools Safe

(...) I agree. Clearly it let *you* down somewhere along the line, at least in a minor way. :-) (Way to mess up on the too/to thingie, eric. Don't you hate it when that happens to a post you wrote? I do too. It happens too much. ) (an eric slips (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Want my car? I want your LEGO

(...) Welllll...let's see some pics! Where's the car located? Ed (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.people)

Re: Want my car? I want your LEGO

(...) This is a really neat idea. Wish I'd've thought of it. Anyone want to trade Lego for a '70 Fury convertible? :) -JDF (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.people)

  Re: Shop-at-home for Australia

Move over for the Australians, I think we're in for both State and Federal elections over here in Australia this year. That being said, it still isn't easy to know which candidate to vote for ... The party currently in Government, or one of the (...) (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: FS: 6099 Traitor Transport From Castle Theme

(...) ^^^ (...) For small int values of hamster... we actually used one this way but the hamster died. Strangely enough, CA wasn't willing to send a replacement. :-) FUT .fun (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Want my car? I want your LEGO

(...) Oops. I actually just looked at it full size for the first time. That was too big; sorry all. And worse than being cumbersomly large, it's a bit blurry. Oh well. I hope you can squeeze another 100,000 miles out of it. Chris (24 years ago, 1-Feb-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.people)

Re: Lego desk owner identity revealed

(...) What this "Eric Harshbarger" person fails to mention in his clarifications is that (if what I read is true) he has a math degree! A master's! So, if he DOES indeed exist, then at least according to Larry, he is a Geek. Maggie C. (24 years ago, 31-Jan-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Lego desk owner identity revealed

well... seeing as how I don't really exist... I must warn you that I am able to 'not exist' in more than one place at a time... so tracking me down will be that much harder... (though the Parker Posey clues are certainly a good start...) cheers, (...) (24 years ago, 31-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Lego desk owner identity revealed

(...) Well... As you know I went to a NYCnanofest last week. ((URL) was an Erik present at the fest who vehemently denied that he had anything to do with desk building and that he didn't even like Parker Posey, but I think he was just pos(ey)ing. So (...)
