        Re: SPAM —Larry Pieniazek
(...) ?? I don't see how that could be spam or even a spam harvest attempt. Call me gullible I guess, but it just strikes me as someone who's relatively clueless at the moment, perhaps young. I get notes, from people I am convinced are youngsters, (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

         Re: SPAM —Tim Courtney
(...) I see that one the same way. I get a lot of those too. I try to reply to the honest clueless questions, even though I'm easily annoyed by them. What's more annoying is when someone sends some 'official communique of the _____ empire' asking (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

        Re: SPAM —Shiri Dori
(...) Actually, John, this wasn't a spam letter at all. I received the same letter from the same person (perhaps after she realized you aren't gonna answer) and answered her, also asking who this is. She replied saying thanks a lot, and that she (...)      (...) Cool stuff - I'm glad that it had a happy ending! :) (...) Why would the person sending this (say it is a spam) go out of (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

         Re: SPAM —Shiri Dori
(...) Whoops, slight mistake... The letter I received WAS signed. I guess that would make it a less-plausible spam, but not always. I sometimes get spams that start out "Hi, my name is ___. A mutual friend told me about you" or some sort of trash. (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

SPAM, Not SPAM? (was Re: SPAM) —John Neal
(...) And not doing a very good job. If you write a letter asking for something and you get taken for spam, you are in trouble.
