Actually LUGNet doesn’t do the job well. The news post setup is far from
intuitive, and if you register with LUGNet it might be days or even weeks before
your account is activated. The interface is old and kludgy, and the nntp format
is nice for tech geeks, but let’s face it. Most people don’t even know what nntp
is, much less use it.
The vBulletin forums at Classic-Space.com are ready to go immediately. Posting
is easy and straightforward.
I’m the curator of the .space newsgroup here, so you can’t accuse me of not
loving LUGNet. However, I do recognize its shortcomings, and I’ll support the
new site too.
It’s a site for Spacers by Spacers.
