That's kind of how the knucklehead had characterized it. In my view, it's a
question of most-widespread benefit. If 90% of the population has access to
good health care, then that's great, even if access to certain procedures is
limited. On the other hand, I've never needed an MRI, so that service is, to
date and in practical terms, irrelevant to me. I'd rather have my routine
medical costs covered, even if it means that an uncommon procedure is made less
accessible to me.

Really, that's not all that different from the US system. A few years ago a
friend cut his arm on a can, and he had to wait six hours at the ER before being
treated. Another young coworker was taken to the ER for heart palpitations in
the months after her gastric bypass surgery, and she had to wait three hours for
treatment. I no of almost no one who, upon entering the ER under their own
power, received prompt treatment.

Wow! $20 or $30 per month is a fraction of what I'm paying right now!
