Accusing someone of creating “racial division” is akin to calling them “racists” IMO. The entire quotation is, in the final analysis, the pot calling the kettle, er, black.

I don’t see how it is a case of the pot calling the kettle black. Inasmuch as the minority groups formed due to ostracism, and the “white” group is not forming for the same reason, I can see where McCelland’s concern is coming from. It seems that the “white” club is being formed simply in reaction to the others existing. McClelland leaves the door open to other interpretations, and I’d need to know more about the various parties involved to draw a firmer conclusion myself.
