It’s Dutch, and not all that common. It wasn’t until I was into my 20’s
until I met other folks with my last name that I wasn’t related to.

Hah, I got you beat! It wasn’t until my 40’s (all of a month or two ago)
that I met someone with my last name that I’m not directly related to...

I’ve never met someone with my last name who isn’t related to me - in fact,
my understanding is that absolutely everyone with my last name is related to
me.

No, I can’t stop setting a new record every day until I actually find
someone named Schlickbernd not related to me (and yes, the two black women named
Schlickbernd are related). :-P
