You said something to that effect a couple of days ago. It's funny -- I
consider myself a complete amature when it comes to statistics. I'm comfy
applying and analyzing stats to social-science kind of situations and I can use
SAS, SPSS, or Excel for the rudimentary stuff that I've needed to do, but I
never could get a stat professor to explain the math behind the
analytic tools sufficiently that I had total buy-in. Actually, if anyone out
there has a reference to a book that's good for that, I'd put it on my list.

I wonder. I mean, I think I like you...but I like lots of folks in person who
believe all kinds of crackpot stuff. Like my mom. Why would we agree more in
person? Or do you just mean that we would tend to concentrate on the common
ground type issues rather than here where we mostly only comment if we're in
disagreement?
