  Re: Somebody help.

(...) Hrmmm... if you're going to just ask her out, I'd just ASK her out. Asking in a note seems ... childish. I'm picturing "Do you like me, check Yes or No" (25 years ago, 2-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Somebody help.

(...) How do you know this girl? Is she in one of your classes, or is she a friend of a friend? Are you in a club together? Here's the best piece of advice I can give you: Talk to her.   Re: Somebody help.

(...) Definitely. These things work too, just make sure you stack the deck in you favor. And be open to the idea that you might just end up liking one of the other girls more once you see them all out in a non-school environment. :) (25 years ago, 2-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Somebody help.

(...) Consider organizing a mixed group to do the same thing. Makes it less of a date, and more just guys hanging out, therefore less threatening to all involved, and less potential for disaster.   Re: Somebody help.

(...) All seriousness aside, I think you ought to ask her if she wants to check out your LEGO collection! Uh, what was the question again? Wasn't it how to remain geeky and single your whole life? No? Oh.... nevermind. [1] -John [1] a la Emily (...) (25 years ago, 2-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Somebody help.

Well, here's some insite from a woman. If there is a mall with a movie theater in your town, and a movie presently showing there that is a light comedy, just go up to her in the hall and ask if she would like to see with you. Something like... Hi, (...) (25 years ago, 2-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Somebody help.

(...) Ah, the most dangerous kind. I dated my Latin teacher's daughter in high school. Everyone thought we made the perfect couple - the classical twins they called us.   Re: Somebody help.

(...) I write a lot, yeah. But you don't want me to write one for you, you want to do it yourself. And you _can_ write poetry. Everyone can.   Re: Somebody help.

(...) Take it from me (and personal) experience. At this age you don't _want_ to go out with older girls. She'll just break your heart - they all do. Then again, maybe she won't. Write a non-sappy non-love poem and ask her to read it. Some girls (...) (25 years ago, 2-Oct-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
