  Re: Anyone else seen this?

(...) This sounds very cool Dave -- if you can bring it along to the next Studfest I may have to take it off your hands. And it's not a rip-off, it's a compatible building system, okay! --DaveL (poor chess player, big chess fan) (23 years ago, 22-Jun-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

WTB: Legend Lion's Kingdom, and Griffon's Hide Out MISB

Hey Y'all: I seem to recall someone, perhaps an Australian, commenting that these sets were still available on retail shelves. I am interested in one of the Lion's Kingdom sets and HUGELY interested in two of the Griffon's Hide Out set. Anyone out (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Nifty clone MOC's (not mine)

These may have been posted elsewhere, but I just found them, and I think they're some rather nice clone MOC's: (URL) Pierre Lecuyer is around, stand up and take credit for your work! Dave! (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: tente - alive and well?

(...) Welcome! There's always room for another supporter of clone brands! 8^) Sadly, Tente is not LEGO-compatible, but it's really close in some ways. The 2x4 brick has nearly the same dimensions, but the stud height and width are different, so the (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: tente - alive and well?

Okay, educate me. These sets look good. But, is Tente compatible with Lego, or is it a stand-alone product? What about quality? Your opinions are appreciated. Alan (always looking for cost effective - i.e. cheap - ways to expand the building (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

(...) Shweet! I like that Bismarck (although it is, um, a bit off-proportioned...). This is one clone that has long deserved another chance! best LFB (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Diablock: D3-Gigantis!

We can only hope that TLC is aware of this and also aware of the popularity of mecha. Right now they seem to be two years behind the times with the Pokemon-ish Bionicle-collect-the...g-machine. Dang it. ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 4-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Diablock: D3-Gigantis!

Diablock posted instructions on their website for a gestalt mecha you can build from their "DiaDroids" line: (URL) can also see pics of the "crystal" versions of the DiaDroids line (same sets, but with trans-colored bricks) at DiaBlocks main (...)   Dear Ritvik/Mega Bloks

Dear Ritvik/Mega Bloks: Here is my Mega Bloks wish list... 1) More translucent elements! Especially the more common elements like 1x1 cylinders, 2x2 cylinders (of which I SHOULD have recieved 16 of in set 9341 Scuba Team and for which I can provide (...)   New ProBuilder sets

Still no word on the website about the potentially forthcoming Whitehouse kit, nor on the Construction Equipment set, but there are a few new ProBuilder kits on the page: (URL) US (URL) US (URL) US Part of the flash site also includes a few small (...)   Re: Not Lego (TENTE, and Betta-build)

(...) Hmmm. Compatible? Well, put it this way - Lego is more compatible, more easily available, and does not need to be shipped halfway across the World! They fit with Lego, but not well. Too tight or too loose, depending on which is on top, and (...) (23 years ago, 10-May-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Not Lego (TENTE, and Betta-build)

(...) Actually, I was wondering more about Betta-Build. I got four or five Tente 2x4 bricks in a recent eBay lot, and I was surprised to learn that the brick dimensions are so similar to, and yet so incompatible with, LEGO. Dave! (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Not Lego (TENTE, and Betta-build)

(...) TENTE is not LEGO-compatible. The principles are much the same, and the outside brick dimensions are comparable, but the stud size (diameter, with open centres) is all different. Someone around here was specifically looking for TENTE, as I (...) (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Not Lego (TENTE, and Betta-build)

(...) Are these at all compatible with LEGO? If so, I'd be interested, and I'd certainly pay postage. Dave! (23 years ago, 8-May-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Not Lego (TENTE, and Betta-build)

I have some non-Lego - the brand-name is TENTE - which I found in a couple of recent tubs of second-hnad Lego. The bits - a few bricks and plates, and some "special" bits (1 helicopter ski, half a dozen plane wings) - don't fit Lego. Does anyone (...)
