Mega Bloks has had in some of the more recent sets, some 4x4

male to male that
are exactly 1/3 brick high, (plate with studs on both sides).  They come in
colors of floresent green, gray, and black. I haven't picked up most of
the "Pro Builders" series, so I don't know if they have some other colors in
the tan military set, or in the F-1, or purple in the monster truck and a
couple of the other set's like that.

O.K., for the first time my local TRU has a rather large selection of
MegaBlocks.  I was impressed with the high price:part ratio in their sets, and
some of the models actually looked quite good.  There was a tank with a lot of
tan bricks that was tempting.  The Battleship set was sold out, but I saw the
picture at the MegaBlocks web site.  Plentiful light gray bricks!

I'm thinking about biting the bullet.  But I'd greatly prefer to buy a set • with
some gender-changers.  Anyone know for sure yet which sets have them and which
don't?

John, bite the bullet and find that battleship set, I have sixteen of them.
It sells out at the stores I frequent too.
Heaps of light grey bricks, light grey plates, black plates and transparent
1x1 cylinder elements. (some plates are not standard plate thickness)
I'm sure Ritvik are on a winner with this set (they think people are building
battleships, when they are really building castles).
The Pro-builder blocks stick ! (not quite as good, but getting close)
