Re: Clone Parts (and Color ) Inventories

(...) $19.98?!? You fink! I spent 2.5 times that much for my set! Of course, the seller was in Hong Kong, so I guess it was my own fault. Still, no regrets. (...) To my knowledge there is currently no website catering to the resale market for clone (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

Re: Clone Parts (and Color ) Inventories

(...) Dave, I went ahead and bought a set off of eBay, $9.99 + 9.99 shipping. Oxford aside, does anyone operate an aftermarket parts outlet? Thanks. Ed (20 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

Re: Clone Parts (and Color ) Inventories

(...) I believe that the set you've shown is part of the Oxford brand of bricks. I purchased a similar set on Ebay and gave a favorable review (URL) here.> In summary, the product was very good, and the plastic quality was excellent, but the cost (...)   Re: Clone Parts (and Color ) Inventories

(...) I think it would be ideal to know if an equivalent clone part exists and what colors it is in. I think building with off colors wouldn't be problem for myself as long I didn't have to mix between colors of different brands. I think I found (...)   Re: Clone Parts (and Color ) Inventories

(...) You know, that's a great idea. I confess that I don't have the resources at the moment to give such a project the time it deserves, but there's certainly a lot that could be done in this regard. One of the problems is that numerous brands have (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

Clone Parts (and Color ) Inventories

I recently made this posting in the "Building" forum, (...) Better yet, classic light and dark grey! Anyway, does anyone know of resource that inventories current clone parts and colors? Thanks. (20 years ago, 21-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Minimates JLA found!

Hi All: I just grabbed the Minimates "Batwing" set at KMart, of all places, for $19.99. With just 110 pieces, it's not a great bargain, but I wanted to be the first kid on my block. They also had the "Bat-Glider" set for $9.99, but I didn't pick (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Just a heads-up

(...) Gladly! Since I know nothing of trains, I couldn't comment on the accuracy or merits of the set, but I figured I'd get some feedback from the resident trainheads! If I see it in any stores, I'll give another heads-up. Dave! (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: Just a heads-up

(...) Verry eeeenteresting. Looks to me to be about a 12 wide perhaps? It certainly might have some good parts to cannabalize. I like the fact that someone else is trying break into this market-- should keep TLC on their toes where we want them;-) (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: Just a heads-up

(...) Looks a lot like the Canadian Pacific #2816 - I got a chance to ride behind that very train (double-headed with Minneapolis' own (URL) #261!>) July 3rd. I have pictures of both locomotives here on my desk... :-) JohnG, GMLTC (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: Just a heads-up

(...) Thanks for sharing. Neat. Some flaws and it needs a tender, but neat. I wonder how it would look on top of BBB wheels. It might be wide enough to where J2 would like it. (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

New MEGABLOKS, and thoughts on Nano

First things first--my local KMart, which usually debuts "new" products a year or so after they hit the market, surprised me yesterday with several new Dragons, Just Build, and ProBuilder sets on the shelves. I was so surprised that I don't have (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Just a heads-up

Check out (URL) nifty offering. There's a fair amount of juniorization, based on what I can see, but it still looks nice to my un-Trained eye. I know, I know, the TOS. FUT to OT.Clones Dave! (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

Re: Honda + Mega Bloks - Ad!!!

(...) Hi Ram! The Honda commercial has been around for quite a while, actually. I first saw it long before seeing the LEGO/Volvo images. Both the MEGABLOKS and LEGO models are very cool, though I must admit that I enjoy the self-assembling Honda ad (...) (20 years ago, 19-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Honda + Mega Bloks - Ad!!!

(URL) saw this in a magazine and decided to search on the web. I guess Volvo + Lego is already facing competition! - Ram - (20 years ago, 17-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Yeah, they're small.

(...) There are advantages to both arrangements, but most of them fall to the original design. A 1:1:1 ratio means it's really easy to get stuff to line up, but it cuts down on a lot of the versatility found in the 5:5:6 ratio used by The LEGO (...)   Re: Yeah, they're small.

(...) OK, now that I've had some time with the little things, I can give an idea of how they work. First, the height/width ratio is slightly different from that of normal Lego or Mega Bloks - two plates (or one brick) tall equals one brick's width, (...)   Yeah, they're small.

(...) I just got the Off Shore Racing set a few minutes ago, and let me tell you these things are tiny. (URL) Haven't had much time to study 'em, but it looks like they have a different plate height/width ratio, and bricks are only two of the (...)   Re: Nano Building System found!

(...) It's on megabloks own website... and wow, I never knew about these. Slopes that are 2/3 height instead of a full brick?! Yes!! Talk about flexibility... let's hope Lego is listening?? (URL) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: Nano Building System found!

(...) If I may say so, Bill's (URL) site> has pics and info on a variety of current and forthcoming releases and is well worth checking out. Bummer about the pushed-back release date for the Enterprise, though... (...) I would love to see pics and (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jul-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)
