(Thanks to Christopher Dean for the heads-up)

I own this one--it's quite cool.  A few items of note--

1120 parts
Lots of 6 x 8 plates (a first for MB, I believe)
Quite a few 1 x 2 tiles (in silver-grey and clear) (also a first)
6x  2 x 2 brick corner round (sort of) (also a first)
4x  3 x 1 slope brick 45 double inverted (2341.dat) (also a first)
2x  4 x 7 x 4 cabinets with up-swinging door
4x  6 x 4 x 4 cabinets with up-swinging door
6x new wheel hubs & tires
3x fire extinguisher nozzles (fit on 1 x 1 brick round)
2x left- and right- doors 1 x 3 x 4
A rather large ladder assembly and turntable
A bunch of chrome elements, including:
   2x jaws-of-life (minifig scale)
   2x fire axes    (minifig scale)
2x hose nozzles (minifig scale) (fits with rubber tubing)
   2 x 2 x 2 bell for the front bumper
   2 x 2 x 2 siren for the front bumper
plus an okay light-and-sound brick with 4 sounds.  Pretty good reproduction
of fire engine sounds, actually, but I don't really care about that kind of
bells-and-whistles.
What's really cool is that the chrome accessories are minifig scale, even
tough the whole model (16-wide!) isn't.

No guarantee on a parts count, but judging by the relative weight, it's got
to be around 2000.
I know that the Technic shuttle is one of The Holy Grails of LEGO-dom, but
this MB model looks like a better true-to-life representation.  For my part,
I've never cared for the skeletal Technic style; a solid model is much more
interesting to me (though YMMV).

Lastly, this appears to be a new items, but no picture:

Jeeezzzzz..... (I know this has been voiced many, many times but...) If only Lego would produce sets with this piece count/price/size/playability value, they would sell a gazillion of them. Ron (22 years ago, 30-Sep-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

(...) Whoa! You have my attention now! If it is not too much trouble could you more clearly define 'Lots of 6x8 plates' and perhaps say what color(s) they are. I was not really interested in this set, but if it has enough good pieces... (...) That (...) (22 years ago, 1-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

(...) Despite the 11/15 date given on Amazon, this set is currently available at two of my local TRU's. Piece count is 805, but unfortunately the brown camo is applied by one of those camo-stick paint pens from the Warriors: Future Force series. I'm (...)
