  Shifty Brick set reviews

The dreaded Shifty/Brick brand has now appeared in Brisbane, Australia, spotted by a group of LUGnetters at a recent OzFest (see (URL) the interests of scientific research, informed consumerism, and saving a bit of dosh, I went along to the same (...)   Re: Mech Pic

I've posted photos of two things I've made with the Mega-Blok joints and limbs on my web site at (URL) They're listed as "M:Tron Alien Hybrid Mecha" and "Ice Planet Stalklauncher" (not the greatest names, but oh well). (22 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Megablocks Dragons: Sorcerer's Lair

(...) You dream about them, I keep *smelling* them. The paint and plastic is aromatic. The joints still squeak with tacky paint, surely dislodging a molecule or two into the air. Everywhere I go, I catch little whiffs of whatever is in the wind and (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Megablocks Dragons: Sorcerer's Lair

(...) Eric-- Thanks for posting these. I dreamed about these last night. Do the knights have helmets that can be removed, or is the head/helmet all one piece? Aaron D. (22 years ago, 18-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Megablocks Dragons: Sorcerer's Lair

(...) Now I know what Legos would like if McFarland toys made them. The dragon looks really cool in an action figure sort of way, but is it actually the case that it doesn't attach to the bricks or plates in any way? I have really enjoyed many of (...)   Re: Megablocks Dragons: Sorcerer's Lair

(...) Feeling attracted yet strangely repulsed. This set reminds me of the 'Masters of the Universe' crossed with an early Arnold 'Conan' movie. (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Megablocks Dragons: Sorcerer's Lair

(...) $30 for all that! While I was hoping for a Probuilder design quality castle and 'Mega Bloks dinosaur' style dragon, this is a very good second if nothing else for just the cool parts. The Dragon is way cooler looking that the Lego version. (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Megablocks Dragons: Sorcerer's Lair

(...) A dozen photos of the main model and some of the pieces close-up: (URL) electronic gizmo: the red gem contains a watch battery, and briefly ignites the dragon's eyes and mouth (can't tell in the flash photo.) When stolen from the dragon, it (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.castle)

A light-hearted jab (was Re: Megablocks Dragons)

(...) Can we establish for the record that the correct brand name is "Mega Bloks" rather than Megablocks or Megablox or Megablocs? I've often used the single word "MegaBloks" since I've seen it that way in official literature. I mean, how would (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Megablocks Dragons: Sorcerer's Lair

(...) I'll try... I had to disassemble the set to clear the coffee table. I hated building it, it's no fun. Big miss with parents there. (...) So yeah that was just a few parts. It's possible our TRU got these early, they are the flagship store (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Megablocks Dragons: Sorcerer's Lair

(...) Did you photograph only a small portion of a much larger set or what? I have been checking their website pretty frequently, but I haven't seen this stuff in detail yet. I will likely check again now! Gimme, gimme, gimme... -- Hop-Frog (22 years ago, 16-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.castle)

  Megablocks Dragons: Sorcerer's Lair

Rather than a review, this is a list of pros and cons of Megablocks Dragons. I picked up the $30 Sorcerer's Lair kit at Fortress TRU, Times Square, NY. You'll notice many of the pros are also cons. I've made a sample diorama I call "Turned to the (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Mech Pic

(...) Aargh! The first victim! Sorry about that! Tore Ericksson recently noted that my use of the stud2.dat primitive would cause certain clone parts to render in POV-Ray with the LEGO logo--an grievous oversight by me! I've been in the process of (...) (22 years ago, 14-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Mech Pic

(...) Hi! It's neat to see that model rendered in LDraw format... which brings me to my question: would it be possible for me to get a copy of the .dat files for those Mega Bloks parts? Specifically, the articulated pieces that form the joints and (...) (22 years ago, 14-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)
