Re: What's the weirdest LEGO item you own?

(...) ***WARNING! THE FOLLOWING IS A YEARS-OLD, GOOD-NATURED JAB AT LARRY*** Well, the make-up was the only good thing about "Bicentennial Man," so I'm going to guess that that's the item that exists. ***END OF YEARS-OLD, GOOD-NATURED JAB AT (...)   Re: Is the Intifada working?

(...) Wow, this may be the first time I have ever heard that terrorism might actually be successful in bringing down a gov't. People aren't shopping for fear of getting killed, tourism drasically down, recession, 10 percent unemployment, and the (...) (22 years ago, 24-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: What's the weirdest LEGO item you own?

(...) Gee, Larry .... How will we keep you on the ground when I show you my pieces of concrete from the Cypress Structure (Hwy 880) and the Embarcadero Freeway (Hwy 480) that were destroyed after the 1989 quake? Will you buy my coffee if I show you (...) (22 years ago, 24-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: how large would the ISD be compared to the Enterprise-D?

hi! Some time ago I built myself a little tool to calculate one's weight on other planets. The formula I use might simplify the problem a little but the output usually comes close enough to what I find in books for me. The input I use is the size (...)   Good [Sniper] Quote

"Snipers are ordinary people, who have taken on an extraordinary job. The title 'sniper' is one we wear with pride. Real snipers save lives, every time they go to work." From: (URL) A (22 years ago, 24-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) There's a set of two "Eugenics Wars" books out now, and while the Trek "EU" isn't canon, it's an interesting take on those wars. It takes *both* established Trek Eugenices War history and real life history into account, which is no easy feat. (...) (22 years ago, 24-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

First attempt at a Marketplace building

Here we go, the experimental marketplace building. This 'shop' I call "Tha 4-tune Tella's Shizzop" and it is run by Fred Durst. After the cooky facepaint wearing bassplayer left Limp Bizkit, the band went down hill. Fred tried to make money by (...)   Re: Brickshelf question, folder pics

(...) I don't think it's a setting per se, it's that you have to have a picture in the folder. Folders that contain just other folders will get the manila folder icon. If there is one or more pics in the folder, the first pic, alpha by name, is used (...) (22 years ago, 24-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Brickshelf question, folder pics

Can somebody tell me how to make a thumbnail/picture the icon for a folder instead of the manilla folder looking icon. Is there some setting that I'm missing? e. (22 years ago, 24-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Don't have to about LEGO to be geeky...

(...) The Bay Area LEGO User's Group (BayLUG) and Bay Area Linux User's Group (BALUG) have a similar issue. But we resolved it in a very cooperative way - we set up links to each others' sites. --Bill. (22 years ago, 23-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Off-topic.clones: I wish TLG would have made this part!

(...) Okay, now I get it (I hadn't seen that pic yet). Reminds me of some Europeans (foggy memory alert; help anyone?) who built a train of simply constructed bricks, sort of like what my son did here: (URL) it's a start:-) -John (22 years ago, 23-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.trains)

Have any of you wacky trainheads seen t his?

(URL) I FUT to ot.fun, or is this sufficiently train-related to stay here? I ask only because I so recently violated the purity of lugnet.trains, and I'd hate to be twice struck by curator lightning... 8^) Dave! (22 years ago, 23-Oct-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.off-topic.fun)
