The 9V motors are strong enough. Sometimes it shocks a bit, when the weight
is not well distributed (means that I either have too much or too less
counterweight). The crane is able to do 0 to 1.2 revolutions per minute.
When studying the spec sheet from Liebherr, I realized that I have to cut
back on that point and reduce it to 0 to 0.6 rpm. Then the problem of the
shocking will be solved (I hope).

That's absolutely no problem. You have to know that the hook is parted
between 6 and 20 times. Means that When I have 6 kg on the hook, which is
already very much for my model (will realize this with the second version, I
hope) then there's just 1 kg at the winch. And the winch is designed to
withstand about 1.5 to 2 kg.

It needs a lot of time. About an hour to lift the main boom in its final
position and minutes to hours to adjust the ropes. That depends.

Well, I hope to see you and your models once in real life too.
There's just the problem with Ochten. It will cost me very much to travel to
the Netherlands just for the one day of the show. I think I will not
participate with my crane - sorry :-( Currently I am a student and therefore
earn not that much.

| Hi Beat, About the lifting capacity. Seen this crane? (URL) guy claims it can lift more than 10 kg. I've seen this crane several times, but he huses to many non-LEGO components. The crane is also much to heavy, it almost collapst for several times (...) (23 years ago, 21-Nov-01, to lugnet.modelteam)
