(...) Which begs the question: how difficult would it be to make posts on LUGNET editable? Not necessarily a question for you but just idle speculation.... JOHN (14 years ago, 28-Jul-10, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

Re: New LEGO Universe Tradition Card Game coming

(...) Probably about as tough as adding multi-column select-sort to the sets database (in other words, don't count on it) :-( I MIGHT have been the guy to ask at one time. Was on the fast track to help Suzanne with some programming. Alas, the best (...) (14 years ago, 30-Jul-10, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

Re: New LEGO Universe Tradition Card Game coming

(...) Yes, it seems that LUGNET has been surpassed in terms of board bells and whistles and AFOLs have preferred to go elsewhere to talk about LEGO. But I refuse to gentle into that good night; I believe that LUGNET is sound in theory and can still (...) (14 years ago, 30-Jul-10, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

(...) You and me both! I prefer the mechanics of some other sites but I would rather come here than most of them. (14 years ago, 30-Jul-10, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

(...) You know, Horse and Buggy Repairmen were the same way about the horseless carriage ;) (...) I suppose it's nice to dream,,, :P (14 years ago, 30-Jul-10, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, FTX)

Re: New LEGO Universe Tradition Card Game coming

(...) Yeah, but I think that the analogy is flawed. The horseless carriage is FAR superior to what it replaced; other boards may have a nice feature here and there, but they are not VASTLY superior to LUGNET. I think that there is great value in (...)   Re: New LEGO Universe Tradition Card Game coming

(...) While I am also disappointed with the reduced interraction on LUGNET, I don't see other boards as bad, even if they aren't superior in features. And I totally disagree about flickr - it allows conversations to go every which way no matter (...) (14 years ago, 30-Jul-10, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, FTX)

Re: New LEGO Universe Tradition Card Game coming

(...) I also agree that Lugnet was THE place to go back in the day and I also wouldn't mind seeing it rise again. But I am just thinking that Lugnet's inability to edit and cancel posts will be a huge factor preventing it from being the proverbial (...) (14 years ago, 30-Jul-10, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, FTX)

Re: New LEGO Universe Tradition Card Game coming

(...) Editing goes against "the newsgroup spirit", which was a big deal to Todd... (and maybe that means the implementation of editing would be hard, I have no idea) But cancellation, if by the author, does not go against that spirit, in my view. (...)   Re: New LEGO Universe Tradition Card Game coming

(...) Nod. Brickwiki just silently disappearing is rather a bummer, lost a fair bit of work from a fair number of folks. I've pinged the owner a few times about bringing it up long enough to get the data extracted but no joy yet. (14 years ago, 31-Jul-10, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

Re: New LEGO Universe Tradition Card Game coming

(...) A little late on the reply here (missed this post), but here goes anyway: I don't see them as bad per se, it's just that they seem to be replacing LUGNET, because people only have so much time to devote to LEGO (what is wrong with these (...)
