A nicer fix would be for ebay to allow sellers to pick between fixed
end
or open ended auctions.

Ebay's volume can't be beat. But allowing for extra choice would be a
step in the right direction.

eBay provides a form that allows a seller to cancel a bid, *if you have a valid reason*. (See (URL) - sorry, I don't know how to link this). Perhaps a seller could put in the item description that the seller reserves the right to cancel any bid (...) (26 years ago, 19-May-99, to lugnet.market.theory)
