    Anit-sniper suggestion for eBay —Phil Whitehead
   eBay provides a form that allows a seller to cancel a bid, *if you have a valid reason*. (See (URL) - sorry, I don't know how to link this). Perhaps a seller could put in the item description that the seller reserves the right to cancel any bid (...) (26 years ago, 19-May-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

      A nicer fix would be for ebay to allow sellers to pick between fixed end or open ended auctions. Ebay's volume can't be beat. But allowing for extra choice would be a step in the right direction. DJ Zorn (26 years ago, 20-May-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

   I thought up another way to set up an auction with anti-sniper protection. List your item with a huge reserve, and then when the auction ends, contact the high bidder, and re-list the item, with a reserve price equal to his high bid. If the high (...)
