Hehe, I'm an oldtimer. I've been around since the last days of
alt.toys.lego. I don't
post that much anymore. Your name is familiar.

I was unaware of this. I thought that they just reversed the debit to the
credit card. I
don't mind store credit, as I buy lots of stuff from TRU. In fact, I have to
pick up the Chou Chou
doll for my daughter.

I asked at TRU about a copy of the credit card statement and they said that
was not acceptable.
Therefore, without a receipt, neither she nor I nor anyone else can return
it. Besides, I wanted to
avoid telling her I don't want the set, as this is the first time she has
bought Lego for me and I want
to"encourage" this.
I did offer to take less than the $200 at the TRUs. I don't mind that,
because, as you point out, it is a gift.
However, I'm not going to take what Target wanted to give me, $45.44 LESS a
15% restocking fee.

I don't have any beef with the employees. They were quite helpful. I'll
probably write a letter to the TRU
headquarters, which is right nearby in Paramus, NJ.
