     This sounds a bit suspicious to me. Lost 1st Class packages should be no more common than lost Priority Mail packages because they are basically the same service. The only difference is the weight category. 1st Class is charged by the ounce, while (...) (24 years ago, 22-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

     (...) There is a delivery conf available on certain other kinds of non prio mail that uses the same fluoro green barcoded form. It costs more than the 35 cents add on. (85 cents??      Yes, it was Certified Mail she was talking about. Just got back from the post office to pick up a package.    (...) Not unless the buyer requests (and pays for) it. If the DC package turned up missing the PO supposedly has to account for it, but not cover the loss, I guess.
