I don't consider $1-2 a massive charge. I may be driving 3 hours out of my way to get
there. Gas in CA is $2/gal, and the time involved, not to mention the hassle/time of
packing them up and shipping them out.
I won't feel guilty about such a small charge, considering I could just eBay them and
get much more.
I always offer to compensate people for their time (and if I haven't in the past, I
goofed). If someone specifically says they want nothing extra ahead of time, that's
fine, but I also don't consider it wrong for someone to ask for compensation for the
trouble.
