We have had packages go across the Pacific and Atlantic ocean and have been
on the receiving and sending end of lengthy shipping times. You really need
to be patient, we have been fortunate that we have never had a package get
lost, but I think some of the packages have decided to take an extended
vacation before reaching their destination. The pacific crossings do seem to
take longer ,and we live in Idaho, so the "ship" times are longer. (bigger
ocean to cross).

I'll have to agree with everyone else here.  I have had Surface shipments take
up to 4 months to arrive from Europe.  I have also had Surface show up in TWO
weeks (how THAT happened, I don't know - maybe some shipments from
France/England are tossed on planes anyways).  In a couple of the cases, it was
because Customs has inspected them.  Other shipments that have been
opened/inspected by Customs have arrived relatively quickly, so it seems that
Customs works just like the Postal Service - sometimes they are sloooow.

Basically, with Surface shipping, you NEVER know how long it will take if it is
changing continents.

I try not to ship anything overseas Surface unless specifically requested
(though I always quote costs for all options), because it takes so danged
long.  Then again, I request Surface shipping on MOST of the lots I get from
overseas, because I'm usually not in a hurry to get them, and trying to save
money towards NEW Lego ;-)
